Did a coast run early this morning, just the three of us. Cats, dogs,
squirrells, horses, rabbits, birds of all denominations, people & really
suicidal bird of prey attacked us all morning. I have never seen anything
like it, every hundred yards or so. It was obvious one of us would kop it &
sure enough Ian on his FZ1 copped a pigeon in his chest at about 100mph. I
was right behind him & the thing just exploded in a massive plume of
feathers & blood. Winded & a bit stunned wasn't Ians problem, his main
problem was the fact the feathers all went into his helmet from underneath
:) He managed to stop & when i looked at him, his visor was full of feathers
    :)

Then on the way home, there was a racehorse loose on Garrowby hill, which
    was nice.

    Very odd day.

Just as bad down here. I *very* narrowly avoided the carcass of a muntjac
deer lying right in the middle of the road on the exit from a fastish bend
yesterday. The head was mashed but the body was intact - a great big
steaming mound. **** knows what my heart rate was for the next thirty
seconds. Took it easy for a while after that :)

  3. You could've legally strapped that to your bike and carried it home.
    Free venison for a month.

I saw one a week or two back causing a traffic jam by lying in the
middle of the A602, with it's stomach neatly hanging out, yuegh !
There were two worried looking plod standing staring at it seemingly
with no clue what to do, buisiness as usual then.

I've always been tempted. Problem is, ACAICT, that you've no real idea
how long it's actually been there, and there may be damage that may not
be immediately visible and render it pointless. Also, I have no idea
how to check if the carcass is diseased at all :(

The racehorse that was going nuts on Garrowby hill was a sight. fucking
owner asked us to 'nip' by & shoo the horse back to her..

LIKE ****, i freewheeled up to it, the **** looked angry, so i hit the
    switch & fucked off quick.

I don't think pigeons have any legal restriction as to how fast they can
    fly.

I read somehwre last year that there are over 78,000 deer/vehicle comings
together in the UK each year.

I didn't know we had that many fucking deer, let along the possibility of so
    many accidents.

Oh yes. They always want our help when the shit hits the fan, but before it
does, they wouldn't give us the time of day.

I remembered where. MCN so you may have a point, but they did do an area by
area map showing where the majority happen (Porridge land) and quite a lot
down south to. Not many in Bolton, so deer are either smarter than I
thought, or can't get a passport.

Elk/Gnu's are the worst of the fuckers. Clout them in the legs, either in a
car or on a bike and they end up sat in your lap. My wife's cousin collected
one a couple of years ago up in the norf of Sweden. He was pretty mangled up
but survived. Her cousin, on the other hand....
