Er, Cane, dwb is not in the BHaLC. Far from it, the colonial fucker.

I find their spamming a little irritating, too.
I've often said "I'd rather go without than have second-best". No
matter how skint I am, you won't find Tesco Value Instant Coffee at my
    place.

Fucking fantastic in every way. Superb house, great meals out, great
golf, hot weather (but stormy). Definitely going back
A bottle of Tanqueray 10 from the duty free and a tan.

Not necessarily so. Take the car industry as an example, I understand that
the labour cost element in car manufacturing is about 2% in a modern
production plant. Hardly the most significant factor when you consider other
things such as the price of raw materials or currency fluctuations.

It is widely believed that it was the restrictive legislation that you refer
to that led to the Ford ending car production in Dagenham. Of course the
restrictive legislation was in force in other European countries and meant
that the UK had the cheapest exit costs.

You know that coffee you had at my place....

....na, it wasn't Tesco Value, I always have nice coffee. But I will
be value beans and the like purely because there is bugger all
difference between them and branded ones.

Fair enough. I tend to buy ready ground coffee in France when I'm booze
    running, and beans from Whittards.

I hope you realise I meant beans of the baked variety[1] not the
    coffee variety.

I watched a trailer for a programme about Harleys on Men and Motors the
other night. I rarely LOL at the TV but just had to when one of the people
being interviewed described a Harley as the 'Ferrari of the motorcycle
    world'.

I think he meant to say Massey Ferguson.

Well, my fry-ups aren't exactly gourmet cooking so it really doesn't
    matter.

Tell you what, the fry-ups at the Cotton House [0] on Mustique are
    gourmet cooking.

I think Mr. List's comments down the same page sum it up nicely:

To me, Harley-Davidson means overweight, underpowered motorcycles with
appalling handling and shockingly useless brakes, ridden by
brand-afflicted fashion victims and made by a company more interested
in selling branded belt buckles and after-market bolt-ons than making
good motorcycles. That the company has survived at all is more
indicative of the blinkered views of its customers than the quality of
the products. H-D do make a few good quality modern motorcycles with
decent handling and brakes, but it speaks volumes that they sell them
    as Buells rather than Harley-Davidsons.

That is exactly why I didn't renew the car insurance with them, and I
told them that too. Hasn't stopped the spam yet, mind.

    I do.

Bank with the Coop, insure with CIS, mortgage with Nationwide (it's a
mutual with ethical trading policies), BR pension has policies on arms
and exploitative countries, watch products I buy country of origin etc
    etc.

    This may be of interest,

....but its not always what you buy, what your money's doing that maybe
    just as damaging.
