Wobbly

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Paul Carmichael, May 8, 2010.

  1. Took the bike out for first time in about 6 months. Almost dropped it twice
before getting 100yds from my house. It's really a lot heavier than my
pushbike. Also, not wearing leathers affects my confidence, but it's too hot
    for leathers.

    Perhaps I should get a 125.

Or a decent "rejilla" (mesh) outfit, you coño. Spidi NL5 is your friend.

You are too old for riding like a "cani".

  3. Hmm, 140€. Another reason for not wearing my mono is that I've temporarily
turned into a fat bastard. Put 2" on my waist. However, I'm going to lose
that again, so best wait before buying new kit. But thanks for the advice.
Can't find that in my 120€ Manuel Seco boxed set.

  6. The one-piece has vents as it's a custom made race suit, but just getting it
on and off is too much like hard work when it's warm, and like I say, it
doesn't fit at the moment. I also have black winter leathers that would
probably fit, but they'd be torture.
    Oh, chavs.
Got a good paddock jacket with armour and ventilation.

Heh. I've just had the opposite experience, although I was also pretty
    wobbly.

    R1200RT: 259kg
    Bianchi road bike: 10.5kg

As I headed down the hill to the village, I was thinking, "I'm doing this
as fast as on the RT. On a few scraps of tinfoil and carbon fibre, and
tyres which blow out if you skid more than a metre. And my feet are
fastened to it. And I'm wearing no protective gear, or really anything
much at all. And a bumpy hairpin is approaching REALLY FAST, and my
braking fingers are already tired and if I just brake as hard as I can
the last thing that's going to happen is a nice controlled ABS-assisted
    stop. ****"

Then I remembered about getting off the back of the seat to brake, so
nothing too dramatic happened, but really, after riding around on quarter
of a ton of machinery for a while, a little adjustment is certainly
    required.

    Fecking bargain - they're £160 here.
They apparently have a 4XL that will fit 130cm chest. Is that fat enough?
