  1. Why isn't that American rider Mladin there?

    Carl Sundquist asks:
I found it interesting that the Suzuki press release
said he'd be at Daytona for the test. Didn't Matty-boy
say he wouldn't be at the test as the risk/reward ratio was
too big for a 15 lap race?

    Mark N goes to bat:
Here's what I was talking about:

Now Suzuki says he *will* be there. I wonder if they are
    talking to Mladin about it.

    What happened to his ankle?

    Bummers
    Twisted it using the shovel?

New data on Matty-boy, stolen from Cycle News.com:

    -------------------------------------------------
Yoshimura Suzuki's Mat Mladin won't be at the Dunlop tire test at
Daytona International Speedway in a few weeks, the Australian still
suffering from the effects of his off-season ankle surgery, according
to Yosh team manager Don Sakakura.

"Mat is still recovering from his ankle surgery and he doesn't feel 100
percent yet," Sakakura said today from the Yosh office. "We want him to
be healed for the start of the season."
    -----------------------------------------------

Okey dokey. That 'not 100%' must be why Damon Backmarker
said that when he ran into Mat in Aus he wasn't even limping.

    And that was weeks ago.

No whining required, Mat's got an excuse instead.
