When the county of Merseyside was formed, many years ago, the "other side" was changed from CH postcodes to the L postcode, and only a few years ago it was changed *back* to the CH postcode, where it rightly belongs. If the idiots in charge got their act together and put us back to where we were before the county of Merseyside was created, then I would once again be classed as a resident of Lancashire, and not Liverpool (despite the fact that I actually reside in Sefton and not Liverpool). -- Lesley CBR600FW SBS#11 (with oak-leaf cluster) BOTAFOT#101A UKRMHRC#12 BONY#54P BOB#18 Real burds don't take hormones, they rage naturally

Not really, if I have to go for work I shall, I don't foresee any other reason unless there's decent diving in which case it's a possibility.

Date: Tuesday, Mar 1, 2005 As a couple of ex Wirral bikers who now live in Shropshire we were very surprised to here it had been cancelled. So when we went to the wirral to see my Father in law I mentioned it to him, he then gave me this[info] Popular Egg Run is now off the menu THERE will be no Wirral Egg Run this year following the resignation of the organising committee at a meeting last Sunday. The annual motorbike convoy across Wirral raised £12,000 for sick children last year, and has become an institution. The popularity of the event, which can attract 5000 participants prompted Mersey- side Police to request a change in the for- mat due to public safety concerns. The police said despite protracted negoti- ations they were unable to fully satisfy safety concerns and the organisers decided against staging the Egg Run. A police spokesman claimed the Concerns over road safet organisers would not agree that an alterna- tive day-long motorcycling event and a London Marathon-style registration scheme could achieve the same objective. Wirral Area Commander, Chief Superin- tendent Alan Jones said: "I really regret that the 'official' Wirral Egg Run 2005 will not now take place but the safety of the participants and members of the public is of paramount importance to Merseyside Police. We have had considerable discus- sions with the organisers over the format of the event and I am more than willing to continue those discussions for an eve: 2006 that will achieve the key object! raising money for hospital charities." Wirral Council's director of regei tion, Alan Stennard, said: "Council have been working with the Egg Run ( mittee to make this a safe but fun day. "We understand, however, that demands for this event mean that organisers have decided not to be invc in any future organisation of the Egg for 2005. It's a sad but perhaps neces decision given the scale of the project.
