    Hi,
I'm restoring my old GS Thou and I've just noticed lots of cracking
insulation in parts of the old wiring loom. Anyone know of:
Where I can get a hold of a replacement main loom
    or
Is there anyone who makes up wiring looms?
    Thanks
    Ian

Check on fleabay for a used one and/or get something like Classic
Motorcycle Mechanics and phone every Suzuki specialist in there.

Wiring looms tend to be a bit hard to get and quite expensive if you
    can get one.
Again, couple of people advertising in the above mag and other classic
rags should be able to repair your existing loom.

    Salad Dodger says...
Chris there is one of the friendliest parts guys I have ever known, and
he certainly knows his stuff. Must call them today and order a decal for
this slightly damaged Gixer panel I bought on eBay.

    I haven't lost my mind, it's
backed up to a floppy disc
    that's around here somewhere.

Woah, they must have changed since last time I tried to deal with the
ignorant, unhelpful, useless gits - okay, so I called them after I'd
been talking to Dave Silvers which could make anyone look unhelpful but
that didn't change the fact that they obviously weren't interested in
the couple of hundred quid I was trying to spend with them.

A GN250 might not be a glamorous bike but when a punter phones up with
part numbers, frame number & model designation you don't tell him "nah,
you've got that wrong mate, that's not a Suzuki part number or model
code". After I argued they told me it was a discontinued part & there
weren't any to be had anywhere. I phoned my local man what does and 10
days later I had the "discontinued" part sat in my workshop, complete
with air freight stickers dated that week...
We need some bits for her GN, might give them a call and see if my money
is good enough for them this time around.

    since!

Thanks guys. I went down the Classic Mcycle Mechanics route, but no joy at
all. I have emailed sparesdirect to ask the question, so I'll see what
    gives.
I could use the old one, but it'd take one hell of a botch job to solder in
new sections. Might be the only way though !
