    Hello

I'm going to help fit a pair of heated grips on a CBF1000. Does any one have
    a wiring diagram available?

My plan is to tap off the number plate lamp to a relay - my assumption being
that the relay will be off when the ignition is off. I would like to confirm
this with a look at the diagram.

    Regards

    John

You could just check with a meter?

That's exactly what I did on my Z1000, on the Zed it is off when the
ignition is off, probably the same on a Honda. as posted, a meter
would prove it, so would looking at the light !!

Ditto for the fitting on my Tenere.

It's dead easy to find and you just run the feed up under the tank to
the handlebars. The other option is to pick up from the front brake
light live feed but if the tank comes off easily I wouldn't arse about
    like that.

    I appreciate you comments, but......

Looking at the light is o.k. if the thing is wired so that's there no live
feed to it when the ignition's off. But if the thing is switched in some way
that a return connection is only enabled when the ignition is on then the
relay will drain the battery from a non-switched live feed. With me:
whatever can go wrong probably will, so I like circuit diagrams (and the
    colour code knowledge they contain).

I agree that the DMM will answer the question for me - but that involves
poking about for a few minutes (and probably taking the rear lamp apart a
bit). Which is what I will do if I don't get a look at a diagram. If my
assumption is correct then I can simply Scotchlock into the plate lamp feed
    to the relay coil.

Other advantages of the diagram might include knowledge about dedicated
accessory feeds. I found one such on my (too expensive and you're right TOG)
    KLE500 by viewing the diagram.

Hence the desire for a diagram.

    Thanks

    John
