Wipac Alternator - Norton Electra?

Discussion in 'Classic Motorbikes' started by Andy Nutherthing, Aug 13, 2003.

  1. Does anyone have any idea of the connections on a five wire Wipac
Alternator, possibly from a Norton Electra ES400. Looks like 3 wires
go to one set of ciols and two to another.

Light Green goes to the rectifier and to the regulator, the diagram
shows the wire is "Y" shaped at the connection to the rectifier.

White goes to the rectifier alone.

Orange goes to the regulator alone.

    Just noticed the word "five".

Odd, I cannot see any 5-wire alternators in the book. So sorry if my
other post was no use after all.
