    Hi

Would anyone care to recommend some winter leggings, leathers or not.

    Many thanks

    Yours

From my courier days(long distance, not central London), I found the
following to be about the best:
Thick womens woolly tights, or winter running/jogging bottoms/tights.
A thick pair of leather trousers,I had a cheap pair of Akitos, with
padded knees and hips. The padding is good insulation.
And finally a thick pair of nylon padded waterproof overtrousers.

If you are only commuting a few miles, then just get some thick
    overtrousers.
Also, the best protection is a fairing.
    Alan.

I bought some 'Buffalo' ones for about 100- last autumn. By
the spring the lining was screwed. They did keep me warm
and dry though. I would be tempted by a similar design
again (if I can't repair these ones), cordura based with a
gortex style lining and some armour.

I'd look at the NEC and see what's for sale cheap. I bought
a Triumph Cordura / Sympatex jacket for 80 quid which I've
    used for about 25k miles and it's still in good condition;
I'm hoping someone will be punting out similar trousers this
    year.

Mind you, I'm tempted to import an Aerotex (sp?) suit...

I have some Frank Thomas [1] aqua pants, they're surprisingly quite
    excellent with a removable liner.

[2] Actually the pants are not pant IYSWIM?

I bought them from Lucas Motorcycles in Ross on Wye - cost 75 quid which I
    thought was a bargain

They have a zip out thermal liner. Very warm with the liner in. I also wore
them on a trip to Italy this summer minus the liner. They were more
comfortable in the heat than leathers.

Most people here know that I'm not a fan of FT [1] but I have to admit
    the pant are very good.

[1] Neither are a lot of the dealers. Allegedly.

I fucking hated that programme. Fortunately I had better
things to do with my time than watch it.
