Ok, recommendations for *decent* winter kit please - jacket/trousers
    essentially.

In the frame atm is the Hein Gericke Voyager stuff which most people seem
to rate. But apart from this, any other brands I should be considering.
    Belstaff/Dainese/Alpinestars etc etc??

Why look beyond HG? Their fluroescent yellow jacket has served me
well. Both on and off bike.

The Bering jacket I've had over the last 5 years has been, and still is,
    excellent.

I'm not knocking their stuff and it is generally very good, but they're not
the only bike kit manufacturers out there, and tbh, I don't buy the whole
    HG are gods thing.

I have a Frank Thomas jacket and trousers which have kept my dry and
    toasty through two winters.

Your nearest shop that sells MotoX gear will probably have it or
mailto: for a dealer near you.

They are not gods, nobody ever said they were but they are the consumers

at a (relatively) affordable price. Which when you think about it is a
    very down to earth policy.

Polo, which is my kit and 120% customer satisfaction.

I think you can get it now in the UK too.

which sends you on this nice little loop.

\Teen\, v. t. [See Tine to shut.] To hedge or fence in; to inclose.

\Tine\, v. t. [AS. t?nan, from t?n an inclosure. See Town.] To shut in,

Which suggests to me that dictionary compilers just put stuff in there
    to fill up the space.

The Dainese Goretex jacket range are the DB. 2 have seen me through 6 years
and you see plenty of them around UKRM. They do a shorter style and the
material feels lighter and more flexible than HG, good for wearing on a
    sprotbike.

Just stick with HG, they need your business (in deep doo-doo last time I
looked). *Every* time I stray from HG I end up back there wondering why I
even contemplated a temporary defection. I am HG from head to toe at the
moment, because their kit is (mostly) excellent, and sensibly priced.

Know it's not what you asked for, but I feel strongly about the amount of
crap kit out there at outrageous prices. I have never, ever, bought
    anything crap from HG.

I actually went into HG Harrow this afternoon and tried some stuff on. The
medium size Voyager fits really well, except that the cuffs are about 2 in
too short. Also, it doesn't have a full zip to atach the trousers. The Gore
tex version of the Voyager fits pretty well so might go for that and has a
    full zip.

Mind'ewe, its a lot pricier than the standard Voyager but still cheaper than
the Master 4. But at those prices, I could just go for the Dainese Goretex
stuff which seems to fit me better. Might just wait till I go to the show
next week and see if there are any bargains.
