A friend came round for a meal this evening and brought with him a 1976
Chateau Lynch Bages, Grand Cru Classe. I think I'll have to invite him
    round again :)

Two friends came round yesterday evening and brought nothing at all,
proceeded to drink 3 bottles of our best plonk. :-(

  3. Rawnsley Estate 2003 Cabernet Merlot was a good tipple last night,
£5 at Tesco supposedly marked down from £10. Certainly a notch above your
    usual £5 wines.

Tonight in the local offie, I selected a 2004 Banrock Station
Colombard Chardonnay (£4.99, as are most of his wines) but when I pulled
the bottle out there was a 2002 nestled behind it at the same price.
Took a gamble that the cork had held, and it paid off. Needed to breathe
a little and to take a chill, and turned out quite nice in the end.

  4. I am buying a reasonable quantity of wines from
http://www.lurgashall.co.uk/ for something different. It does help
that they're only about 8 - 10 miles away so visiting for tasting is
    possible.
