Yeah, I know it's off topic on a motorcycle newsgroup but the whingers
    can **** off.

Adie's in the states at the moment and has phoned to ask if there's
anything I want for the Wii currently residing in our living room.
What unreasonable demands should I put upon her given that most stuff
available for one appears to be costing the same in USD as it would in
    GBP?

I don't want a drum kit and I don't see myself as a guitar hero so
what the hell is there that will occupy my time when her mother's down
for xmas and I don't want to watch soaps? Driving games are good as
are games where I can vent all that pent up aggression that's been
building up over a summer at poxy fucking power stations so hit me
with the suggestions. Money isn't an issue as I'll conveniently forget
to reimburse her when she gets home.

    No fitness shit either...

  2. Is the wii region coded?
Rockband is surprisingly addictive and great for drunken evenings -
but you might as well wait until RB2 is out. Besides which, she'd
struggle to carry home the full set.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. And a PS3 to run it on.
    *boggle*.

    Mario Kart Wii.

And, really, Guitar Hero is a hoot.

Based on how gorgeous Adie is, I'd suggest that you could occupy
    yourself with her mother.

It was being considered already. I think she was looking more at
'accessories' than games but if games are cheaper then I'm not going
    to complain.

NTSC games won't work on a PAL Wii.

It's a UK one so I'd imagine it will be.

That's going way over my head so lets keep it simple and ask if a UK
machine will play games purchased in the States?

    Not to worry.

Does this issue affect accessories bought in the States or is it only
    games?

    That'll do.

I'll have to have a look at what's available and mail her a list.

    Any suggestions?

  15. As far as I am aware, just the games. I don't believe there are any
intelligent accessories out there in regards to region coding or standards.

  16. No idea, I don't have a wii and have only used one once for guitarhero.

I'm lusting after a Logistic something or other GT steering wheel and
pedal set to compliment Gran Turismo on the PS3.

I initially bought the PS3 as a blueray player, but the quality of the
    graphics for games is stunning.

Actually, given the trauma the poor woman went through last year, it's
    amazing that she's coming back.

    Unless, of course...

No, no, that's a silly thought.

Was it only last year? I'd mind blanked it so well I thought it was
    longer ago than that.

  20. 'Prologue' is what it says on the box.
2010 is the current planned release date, which is why I succumbed to
buying prologue. There appears to be plenty of game in prologue, and it
appears to get updated (over t'internet) quite often with new stuff.

    This is what I'm considering:
