I take it then your inbuilt padding provides the missing suspension as I
find rigids knock my chronic back problem for 6 hence the desire for
suspension , yes the rigid looks cool but the compromise aint worth it
when a monoshock works far better and still looks cool
My tt500 is mono shocked for a cafe' and handles very well .

  2. IMHO it's a generator not a starter as on the S&S
    Mmmm
The LHS is confused by the open primary
From the glimpse you get of the RHS it doesn't look like a panhead
    bottom end
And the barrels look more Evo than anything, maybe just the machined fins

Ahh well, i'd have it if someone gave it to me.

Evo barrels have through bolts running from the head to the case. Only
two bolts are visible on the left side of each head, the right being
inside the rocker boxes. The pan and shovel barrels bolt to the case
with four bolts and to the heads with five bolts, all bolt heads being
visible externally, as can be seen in the photos.

The cam cover is late panhead.

The exhaust ports are either modified to shovelhead style flanges (a
common mod) or he's using aftermarket shovel-style heads with pan covers.

To go back to the thread-heading; I see that Aldi has long and short
textile bike-jackets this week for $120.
Anyone got any feedback on their quality or waterproofocity?

  8. I have/had Crane sports gear from Aldi

Good jacket, too big tho, didn't like the cuffs - kind of a draft
stopping stretchy cuff inside then the zip close sleeve over...made it
bulky and hard to get the cuff on the glove over - nice & comfy and
warm, plenty of pockets, good zip, only used for commuting (1/2 hour),
waterproof for that long at least

I'd recommend it - was going to remove the inner cuffs and give it a go
but I traded it for something I wanted at the time, the material looks
    like something you would trust

Pants, love 'em - zip failed, must get a new one put in - good apart
    from that

Still have the gloves - too big for me, must get around to giving them
    away some day

oh I missed that in the mailout catalogue.. Yep I bought a two piece
    in April.

Certified warm and dry, survived a Snowy trip in May and a few other
    wet trips.

The seams are well-constructed..strong and 100% waterproof.

Can't comment on how water proof they are, but, since I got a pair of
pants and jacket a few months ago now, I haven't been rained on, while
    wearing the Aldi gear.

Does that make them rain repelant?

    regards,

Nothing wrong with having suspension as I said the mono frames now
available are very cool looking and perform far better with very high
comfort , where does it say riding two wheels needs pain and stupidity ?

Can't speak to Elsie's original question, but I have the gloves, like
'em, and wear 'em in preference to the various other gloves I've got.

I just wanted to resurrect this thread and say "you bastard".

I got to excercise my wet weather gear over there quite a lot. Damn
    you, La Niña.

(I'm revisting this thread because I'm attempting to find the
reference you made to a great road near Stilfserjoch, aka Passo dello
Stelvio. I haven't found the reference yet. And I really should do
the dishes and go to bed).

    Get some sleep.

Indeed, we stayed three nights at a guesthouse in Stilfserjoch. (The St
George, I think.) This of course involved crossing the Stelvio a couple
of times as well as the Umbrail... less scenic but equally good to ride.

If you really want to waste some time, load some of these into Google
    Earth.
