why they don't see you

  1. That's what I told my brother, who has an inordinate fear of flying and
an equal aversion to drowning - build a big ramp on the Mornington
Peninsula and hit it very very fast.

  2. I'm heading back for a visit in Nov/Dec, and I think I'll die with the
heat. I think I've acclimatised fairly well. When temperatures get to
high teens, I start feeling uncomfortably hot. :)
The big fella from the north beat me to the punch - it's that little dot
of dirt across the ditch from Melbin. No! NOT the one they have that
    bike race on.

I'm liking it. Been busier than a blue-arsed fly, and haven't really got
in a lot of riding in the last two months (excuses such as rain,
collapsed shockie, rain, buying house, rain, cold, rain, ice - did I
mention rain?) but hopefully that will change again. Given the lack of
recent riding, I've still managed similar annual km to what I was doing
on the mainland - but bugger all rallies and stuff. Tried to get a few
weekenders going, but I don't think there's a sufficient population base
to generate the right amount of interest. Plenty of bikes on the road,
though. Probably more Ducatis, per head of population, than anywhere
    else I've seen.

Came down on a 5 year plan. Will re-evaluate in 4 years.

  3. What would be the point of that if he doesn't like flying?

So you were replying to something asked by a different poster way
further up the thread but directing those replies to me when I asked my
question?I think we can fairly safely log that one as a *yes*.

If this driver used this street regularly he would get used to a certain
distance of road that needs to be clear at legal speeds for safe entry
and may not have consciously looked at double the distance up the road.
When maniacs doing much in excess of normal speeds approach he would not
    have time to do much

No argument; I was only talking about the skidmarks.

You still haven't explained how they can show what a driver saw before
    he started moving though.

That's 5 times you haven't understood what you're replying to. You
should contact Guinness; that's GOT to be a stupid-record!

Just polite. Up until now you've always been asking me questions (or
    making statements that need correcting).
If you're only PRETENDING to be stupid then I apologise for
    misunderstanding and trying to help.

Who voted you Hall Monitor? And how do you know that you corrected me?

    Another question:
I don't know what the Hall Monitor comment is supposed to mean; you were
wrong so I pointed out the error.
When you didn't get it I pointed it out again.
    And again.
And a few more times too but you finally understood (phew) so it's a
simple fact that you have been corrected and I was the one who corrected
    you.
Argue with the English-language if you've got a problem with it.
