......That no mechanic wants to look at my k100, other than my local (35
    miles away) BMW dealership?

so, does anyone know of a mechanic in the Manchester area that is not
frightened of K100's and doesn't want £58 an hour labour?

    TIA

Speak to Motorworks. They seem to know just about everything and more
importantly *everyone* about, and connected with BMWs. They may know of a
BMW Owners club member near you who could help for beer/cash etc.

Dave Eades was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
    Not surprising unfortunately.
Can't find any of my few BMW club mags at the moment so I can't check
if someone's advertising there. Have a gander at the BMW club website
(http://www.bmw-club.org.uk/ from memory, you might have to google),
they've got a message board there. Post question to relevant board and
maybe someone can help you out.

Ah, could be a few things. Don't be a tight git, take it to Williams. Could
cost less than buying bits until it goes away.

    .....
I think mine works, It is just losing oil at a rate of knots.
I have found a garage now and the bike should be sorted by weekend, I'm then
going to sell it and look for a smaller commuting bike. So, anybody got a
cheap and cheerfull commuter type thing for sale?

Better still, anybody want a K100?
taxed and tested till end of december 2004, a little tatty, but then again
    it's 20 years old.the speedo doesn't work but it's got a Halfords pushbike
speedo on it.Oh and it's red and it's in Lancashire and I want about £550
    for it.
