I've ridden a few maxi-scooters and have come to the conclusion that they're all shite -- Lozzo Versys 650 Inter-Continental Hyperbolistic Missile , CBR600F-W racebike in the making, TS250C, RD400F (somewhere) BMW E46 318iSE (it's a car, not one of those 2-wheeled pieces of shite they churn out)
(The Older Gentleman) wrote in they won't be on the road in the same numbers - the replacement cost of complex electronics will see many broken up for spares. Mechanical bits will be 2 a penny and the electronic modules will become unobtanium. 21 year old R1150GS will be worth more than 15 year old R1200GS by 2020. 27 year old R1100GS might be worth even more.
I think you're right. I'll go and have a look, even though it looks like it's got less torque than a DL650
We've discussed this before. I subscribe to the view that as demand increases, people will develop aftermarket electronics kit, in the way they've developed all sorts of aftermarket stuff to fix Jap bikes that were considered to be 'unserviceable' as they got older.
Tiger 58 ft/lbs, DL 44 ft/lbs according to a quick google. And the Tiger's got nearly 30hp more, and weighs 210kg wet compared to the DL's 217kg dry. There doesn't seem to be much of a contest on paper, but I haven't ridden either so I'll take a wibble.
I'm sure he is still worth asking. What's the budget? I wouldn't ever suggest an Oil Head to anyone. I think it was Pip that pointed out an R1200S to me one day, and they look like everything an R100S enthusiast ever (wet) dreamed of, however I still couldn't bring myself to acquire one. So I got a nice reliable Ducati. I'm pretty sure you would love a 4S. Such a shame they are so rare and that Ducati went off down the Multistrada line.

Upper limit of Busa plus 3 I think the boss' boss' boss has one. I'll ask him if I can have a play if I see him tomorrow. In the interim, I've booked in for a couple of Triumph test rides on Saturday (Tiger 1050 and Tiger 800 road version)
I put 120k+ miles on my 1100, ~55k for my 1300, so far. When I first got the 13, I thought it was crap, that a bunch of newbies engineers designed it without supervision. I still think that, but it's done almost everything I've asked. It's piggish and has no soul, but not many of my toys have soul.
That was that gorgeous looking, single-sided wedge of hi-tech complexity in the paddock at Snetterton, IIRC.
Gorgeous looking? You've lost the fucking plot, big time. -- Lozzo Versys 650 Inter-Continental Hyperbolistic Missile , CBR600F-W racebike in the making, TS250C, RD400F (somewhere) BMW E46 318iSE (it's a car, not one of those 2-wheeled pieces of shite they churn out)

Arrr it was that laddie. I've ummed and awwed several times since then before discovering Mr Ducati's reliable goodness. I just know it would have disappointed.
