Why I love my local dealer

As you know my clutch cable went on Monday. I ordered a new one at
    opening time on Monday.

Still has not arrived and I'm getting a tad edgy. It's also really
inconvenient getting the kids and me and the partner to work and care..
much of the reason I got a bike - for starters I've been an hour later
to work than normal every day since.

Anyway I rang the shop and asked nicely if I could get a loaner.
I suddenly have an ER-6F with under 8000km in "impreza blue", sat in the
    garage. Thanks Mr Rock !

It's weird - the mirror don't move when you turn the bars. Quite
disconcering on the first roundabout. Even better, you can SEE STUFF
    that's behind you.

    Again, thanks Mr Rock !

Well there is of course that suggestion, but I was surprised and pleased
    (of course) :)

As for Kwak, my old bike was a KLX300 - glad to get rid of it to be
honest, kept stalling and being a c**t to start but would kick first go
with no choke when cold. Tho I admit this one's a lot different to the
    KLX :)

The ER6F was my dream bike for quite a while.... but I got over it. Hey
Yeebs, does the fairing buzz at highway speeds? (that was a big criticism
when it first came out - according to AMCN it was like riding a giant kazoo!
    <snigger>)

    betty, I still think it
    looks great (but the
    blue is my least fav!)

Yes there's a weird noise around 80ish.. some sorta vibraty resonance
type of noise. not sure how loud it is but very audible even with the
visor closed. I just assumed it was some slight oddity due to being a
demo. Compared to Fritz, it certainly tears along.

What is your dream bike now?

I don't have one now, Richard... I got all excited about the Mito500, but
who knows if that will ever happen.... and I'm quite keen on a Wee-Strom for
my next bike (coz you can get a low seat for it!) - but I've given up on the
idea of a "Dream Bike" at the moment....

    My dream bike simply doesn't exist...*sigh*... because I'm a short-arse... I
think my dream bike would have to be custom-made.... and would incorporate
bits and pieces from a whole bunch of other bikes... and come in a really
    beautiful rich red <snigger>

When the Lotto Fairies decide that it's MY TURN, I will have my dream bike!

I know, I know, I'll burn in Hell.

However, this thing might look good in deep red, and you can't complain
    about the seat height;

Why not take your old cable to a dirt bike shop and get them replace the
cable and swage some new ends on. Usually costs about $20 and will serve
well as a spare when your new cable arrives.
