Don't answer that. It was only rhetorical.

Replying to a dead thread is a time waster on Usenet. If it's a thread
to a model specific forum, that's different, maybe somebody has an old
crock and is just dying to find out information from people who have
owned that exact model in the same exact color, etc.

But rec.motorcycles.tech is a Usenet NG (even if you are reading it in
another forum)
and the topics here are short-lived.

And the usual suspects may feel obligated to put their inane $0.02 into
the mummified discussion, second-guessing people who don't even read
this NG anymore, and the original poster has probably fixed the problem
by now or has gotten rid of the machine giving him the problem.
