Easy there, tiger. "Early '70s" is a bit iffy with respect to these
    things...

The last really good looking Mustang was built in 1970, in '71 it became
bigger and bloatier and not as nice (I know, I had one) and was largely
unchanged body-wise in '72 and '73 but with ever decreasing engine output
due to emissions controls and then in '74 it went super fugly primariliy
    due to the fuel crisis.

    For comparisons sake:

    1974-77 http://www.dpo.uab.edu/~bmclean/pics/77ghia.jpg (this is a '77,
    but you get the idea).

Similar (although less disturbing, aesthetically) story with the Dodge
Charger, too. Last nice one was prolly the '71, it went bloaty in '72

Lozzo was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
Hmm? A proper Carerra RS doesn't have any refinements.

Thinking about it, I think the same model was called the Carerra RS over
here, it was based around the body/powerplant of the refined Carerra,
whatever that was called. It was so de-refined that there was none of
the sound deadening or seam sealer that you find on normal cars, and no
underseal where you'd find it on the refined version. It was seriously
lightweight for a Porsche and went like stink when I was taken for a
    drive in it.

    [belatedly]

There was one for sale at the London Lotus Centre in Welham Green a coupla
months ago. About £11k they wanted for it, IIRC. White it was (bleugh!).

Want me to swing by there and see if it's still there? It's kinda on the
    way home.
