That I like. I can't explain why, but I do like it.

Reminds oneself - must "enjoy" the small block buick [1] on the way to
    the MOT test centre tomorrow

Even more ridiculous from the side.

I'm not sure I like the nose, now.

Ooh. My uncle had one of them.

And the one that followed it. The Z-Cars one. P6?

And a Cresta. I liked that.

It wasn't frothy, though, despite what that polar bear said.

no. Nice little cars. Specially the 924S.

    I'd bloody *love* a 968 Club Sport.

  6. I had a Mk2 XJ6 in 'Bog Paper Blue'. Ran it into the ground in 3 years
    contracting in Europe.

  7. Looks like a kitcar. You want a proper sports car, you do.

Designed by a bunch of Brits on contract. They were given access to AVGs
stores and told to design a stop gap because the 928 was very late. When
working in south west Germany I would fly in and out of Stuttgart
Mondays and Fridays with some of them.

The rolling chassis ie: gearbox on back axle to shift the weight back,
lay the engine on it's side to get the bonnet lower etc were the ideas
of a guy called Reggy Kerr. I was an apprentice with him.

I always thought they were a bit of a rip off. As in let's strip out all
the goodies like air con, ICE, leccy windows etc and charge the punter an
extra 5 grand for the privilege.

Isn't this sort of thing being done now with the Carrera 3?
And the BMW M3CSL, shown on Top Gear last week?

Wouldn't surprise me Porsche have been doing it for ages and IIRC BMW did a
    'lightweight' M3 a while back.

BMW have been doing 'lightweight' cars for decades, going back (at
least) to the 1970s with the aluminium bodied 3.0 CSL (sort of proto-6
    series).

  13. I've driven one and for what looked like an 'ordinary' saloon car it was
    very impressive.

Porsche have done it before years ago, ex-boss owned a US spec Carerra
America, which was basically a Carerra RS stripped down of all its
    refinements.

The Batmobile cars IIRC. I saw one on a trailer the other day with the
huge rear wing, all painted up in silver with what looked like Martini
    Racing stripes down it.
