Why are some eBayers so dumb?

    This:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2441287541&category=9807

is its second time around. Seems to be an "unwanted toy".

It looks to be a genuine clean and tidy bike.

Surely, for a modern bike like this, it's far better just to flog it in
Autotrader or Bikemart for a reduced price for a quick sale?

For that model with that milage, it'd be snapped up if he were to flog it
in one of the rags for £4800, yet his eBay starting price was £2700,
it's currently at <checks> £3610, the reserve's not yet been met and the
auction's got 5 days left to run.

If that were me, I'd have stuck it on there for a 3 or 5 day auction,
reserve of 4700 and starting price of 4500k. That way, if there's serious
interest, it'll definitely go for a reasonable price and might even make
    money.

Well, he does say its advertised elsewhere, and it has a full 5 days left
and has 8 bids already. Personally, i always start things at 1p with no
reserve, things on ebay find their own price, as long as you put a good
description with lots of pretty pictures, you'll be fine.

Although i've never sold anything worth more than a few hundred quid, so
i've never had that must to lose, i may well be tempted to stick a reserve
on something worth as much as a 12R.

Nah - you can pick up a Countach for 30K.
    That's sounds plausible.

Oh aye. When they first introduced the (IIRC) Countach 500S, it was a big
hit with the punters. Ferrari at the time were knocking out the
Pininfarina-styled stuff which was all swoopy and side-strakes, etc.

Lambo stuck loads of vents and scoops on their motor and sold a shedload.
It did, however, handle like a garbage scow and all the aforementioned
scoopery made it about as aerodynamic as the average house brick.

    No contest, IMHO.

Heh, there is something about the Lambo, always has been, for me. It was
the one that made me gasp as a small child circa 1974 when we saw one in
    London.

I also hate the '84 T-R 'cause my boss has one.

I always thought this was more of a Countach competitor:

    http://www.carsfromitaly.com/ferrari/f_288gto_200.jpg

But I suppose it was never a full production model.

However, I know which one I'd have.

Surely it's more likely that the tax/vat man has caught up and he's got
to flog something to pay the bill?

You wouldn't flog a nearly new ZX12 to buy a ropey old barge like a CBR
    Thou under any other circumstances.

You joke, of course - the most beautiful car ever put into production IMHO.

I suspect the one in the photo may be a kit, though.
