my renewal has come through and its gone up (again) from last year.

bike is a 9R but I want a policy that you can add to, garaged &
    alarmed.

    11 years no claims protected.

    40 year old female in an MK40 postcode with 6 points (CD10 & SP50)

the quote from auntie carole is still almost £400 for full comp.

seems a little excessive to me. what does the FOAK think and
    recommend?

is it location or do insurance companies use the number of testicles as a
    multiplier?

Well my experience with CN was, that when I went back with a better price[1]
and also refused to pay the "Brokers Fee" the quote dropped. Fill in some
web thingies then beat CN over the head with them.

[1] The deal was not as good, no continental cover, but I didn't bother
    mentioning that.

Mine started out at a reasonable £235 with 11NCD on the XJR.
    Until I mentioned

    a) Alarm no longer fitted
    b) The claim for the car being broken into
    c) My 5MPH nudge that resulted in a 500ukp claim (again car)

It ended up as 363ukp, no NCD protection and now the usual fun and games
over changing the BC1 wording to include the words "and spouse" as we have
    had to change InsCo.

No mileage limit this year though :)

I use these for my gixxer and GSX it cost me £180gbp fully comp.:
    http://www.expressinsurance.co.uk/

Aunty carole was way over the top quoting around £400 gbp but they were very
cheap for my GS at under £100 fc.

they did that last year as I got the same policy at a cheaper price by
    another company.

the problem with web quotes is they don't like the six points/same
    date/multiple codes thing.

yeah but eleven years is still worth keeping even if you don't get
    anything extra after 6 years.
    (forget a footnote?)

heh. it is my real age as the policy is due on my birthday. they
already know about the convictions as they're three years old.
I already have a separate european cover for me & andy in any vehicle
but they wont reduce the quote to remove it.
I know I pay a little extra for being able to add to the policy (they
first quoted a highway policy which you cant add bikes to) which will
be useful when I decide to add to the collection. the garage is far
too empty. I can get to the back of it without having to bend in odd
    places.

On the one hand I agree with you, on the other not.
It is worth not having protected NCD if you only claim once in a year, but
twice screws you. Every where. It cost me 700ukp more on my car insurnace
due to the claims. I doubt it would have been as bad with protected.

And as I am finding the two claims are loading everything !

    Motorcycle Direct.

I'm still with them, and they quoted me an extra £240 to swap the 955i
to the 10R for 11 remaining months, which was a fraction of new
outright quotes. Very pleased with them.

I'm looking at ebikeinsurance at the moment - the quote I got from them for
the chop and the VFR (which Auntie Crapol insists on sticking on the same
policy as the chop is modified and hence not insureable as a classic with
them) is 100 quid more than I paid for the GSA last year. Which was worth
at least twice as much as the two together...

Auntie Carole seems to be going the same way as most other
insurance 'brokers' and doesn't seem to be overly bothered by customer
    non-retension.

  18. Mine went down :)

Especially as I ignored the renewal letter and then phoned up a day
after it had expired - which took another £15 off the premium.

    Fully comp, £225 excess on a Tiger 955i - £175.
    *Choke*

    £400!
