  2. Lots of new ones now. Dunno about the coast hugging ones, though.

Walk across the Carrickarede rope bridge, near the Giant's Causeway.

  6. When in Coleraine, stop at 22's for lunch (it's on the main shopping
street). There are a couple of carparks nearby IIRC (which I may not),
but the stew is excellent for one thing...

  7. The Ring of Kerry. Especially on anything resembling a sportsbike.

Some of the worst tarmac I have ever had the mispleasure to ride a
    Fireblade over.

While I was living in Belfast (2000-2001), I took a week off and did a lap
of Ireland (camping). It was in a car though, so I can't comment on the
quality of the roads, but we did:

Achill Island - very peaceful, excellent beaches and scenery, nice pub, good
campsite. Didn't see any pikeys myself, and really enjoyed the place.

Galway - the town supposedly has good nightlife (we didn't visit), but the
Galway Peninsula (which we did) is very bleak and featureless. I'd skip this
bit if I was to do it again.

Doolin - Recommend staying in the campsite near to O'Connor's pub, if
they're both still there, and visiting the nearby Cliffs of Moher, as
    several others have recommended.

Dingle Peninsula - definitely recommended. Spectacular scenery and the town
of Dingle itself is great fun, with loads of lively pubs. Campsites a bit
    thin on the ground though.

Ring of Kerry - worth it if you fancy a bit of walking, as the view from the
    top of Carantouohill is spectacular.

Cork - didn't go into the town, but Blarney Castle is well worth a visit,
and there's a good pub outside the entrance to the grounds (Christy's).

Dublin - worth popping into if you've got a lot of folk who've never been to
Ireland before, but a bit too touristy and not 'traditionally Irish' enough
    for my liking.

We didn't do it on the week off, but I'd _strongly_ recommend doing the A2
coast road from Belfast to Portstewart. Tracks about 50m from the sea for
most of it's length, and has some excellent twisties. If you want to do some
of the more touristy bits on the way, the Rope Bridge (Carrick a Rede) and
Giant's Causeway are en-route. The Bushmills distillery isn't far away
    either.

Other recommended rides would be a lap of the Ulster GP circuit about
Lisburn, and a trip out into the Mourne Mountains, which are excellent
biking territory and have far better roads than the mountains in the South.

I suspect you've missed the whole point of Ireland...

The family used to holiday on Valentia Island - idyllic and almost
preternaturally laid back. Days spent sitting on the harbour, sailing,
shambling up the middle of the main street to the pub.

Probably been spoiled by the new bridge now.

Taken a bike with longer travel suspension. Brilliant tarmac, but only
in 18" patches... the joins aren't too good... At least you won't go
through Fermoy (spelling?)... Avoid the north during the marching
    season...
