OK, i know that several here have done either LEJOG or JOGLE but has anyone
gone round the coast of ireland at all?

Anywhere that you would specifically want to see or anything you'd wish
    you'd done?

    Anywhere specific to avoid?

You could make a slight change and call yourself Toomey.
It's a good Irish name and you could be an excellent Kenneth Toomey.

I've not done a coastal tour, but have in my youf done a trip to all
the main towns in Ireland. I know the place isn't that big, but I
managed to string it out over a couple of weeks. Depends what you want
    to see.

I don't think Dublin's a place to see anymore, but would just get
straight out there, into the sticks.

    I'd avoid Galway. But that's because I did something I shouldn't have
done and don't want to be caught there again. :)

Did Dublin > Sligo > Mayo > Galway >Burren > Dublin last year with my
daughter. Did it as a 5 day trip with one of the deals in one of the bike
mags, 60 quid return I think for the two of us and the bike. Loved Mayo,
very pretty scenery, disappointed with Galway, found it too industrialised
    for my tastes in place.

Burren was great in a moonscape way ... as are the cliffs of moher .. 650ft

Once back in Dublin took my daughter to see Riverdance at the Gaity Theatre.
I was expecting a bit of a dull evening but it was very good.

Hotels and bar B&B's we used were all very good standard and reasonably
    priced.
    Galway
Achill Island ~ seemed to be full of pikey's

Moher is well worth the effort, especially if you do the standard
climb over the edge and stand on the hidden ledge bit. Not that I'd do
    that myself of course.

Wicklow is good fun, the road over the Wicklow Gap is a stormer with
exciting little bends leading onto narrow bridges where you almost
clip the bridge wall as you exit the bend.

  20. Enlightening two people at once, what joy.

As mentioned up there Tony Hawkes wrote a book about hitch hiking
    around Ireland with a fridge.
"Don't forget your shovel if you want to go to work". Christy Moore
sings it. And I'm now earwormed.
