Who's coming to the BOSM then?

You ever tried getting a late licence?

Believe me, using "a load of bikers a coming round" as a reason for
the licencing committee will not go down well.

Consider for a moment that Mike and Mu (bless 'em, they are wonderful
people) don't get to kip until after 12 on a "normal" night, later
than that when we visit en masse. They are both up and doing by 7am
on the Sunday, as they have to be.

If they were insane enough to go for a late one, then they'd be down
to ~4 hours kip. I wouldn't ask anybody to do that for me, let alone
the lovely folks at the Black Horse.

Attendence is optional, but if you do then having a good time is
    compulsory.

If you don't think you'll like it, use your options.

So you're saying you want to listen to shit music, and you don't want
    breakfast?

Maybe you should go to a town centre pub instead, we won't mind if you
    can't make it.

    A bit harsh isn't it?

He's only suggested a few things, if these aren't appropriate then "no,
it's not a good idea" is surely the appropriate response?

No, I've been looking at the planning law covering Gypsy Caravan Sites.

No, it's "nipping half-cocked concepts in the bud".
    Isn't that what I said?

Not really, you said "this is the way we do it" in a very 'resistant to
    change' way.

Pip is right though. Sort of.

To many, certainly the regular goers, the xOSM is a very precious thing.
It allows the greatest gathering potential for ukrm in any one place and
at any one time. The only thing which approaches it is the Spring Tog
Tour or the BOTAFOT and neither of those allow the time to just mingle
    in quite the same way.

Not yet, but if there's "mingling" involved, and a possibility you'll be
about, who would take the chance?

Judging by previous experience I would say that I represent very little

No, I didn't. Look above and you will see that I didn't, you scamp.

I am reiterating what has been gone through in the past, for the
benefit of those with less-then-retentive memories, see. Every now
and again some bright spark comes up with various ways to "liven it
up" or "extend the hours" etc etc - and it just will not work like
    that, as you well know.

Mike and Mu put up with us on their terms and that's that. We all get
the chance to go away for a weekend at a lovely pub, run by lovely
people who I really don't want to upset or offend.

In order for this event to maintain its regularity, we have to play by
the rules of the hosts - who are good enough to let us invade their
pub for a weekend, taking over the beer garden and most of the car
park, the restaurant and later the snug. They provide us with
excellent beer for sensible money and the best food I've ever had for
a tenner a head. I really don't want to shit on that, or have anybody
    else shit on it.

    Do you?

Oh... Well "It will work perfectly well as it always has" must mean
    something else then...
Not necessarily lacking memories... maybe lacking motivation to read
    every post.
    Fair enough.
Personally I'd like a riot that ends up with a couple of locals hung
from the pub sign and me, with a decent 1970s moustache[1], clutching my
wrist where my hand used to be.. Then again maybe that's just my mad
    max fantasy [2]

[1] Or any moustache come to that. It's a matter of some regret[3] that
I'm unable to sprout a decent amount of facial hair
[2] I added the locals and the pub sign before Champ starts.
[3] For a very small value of some.
