Dunno about CRT, but this hatbox and darning needle contraption I've got is
    rubbish.

My hatbox and darning needle contraption is fine but the summer weather
which I've been allocated with is, quite frankly, shite.

Trouble is, even if you have a house big enough for it, nobody seems
    to make _huge_ crt-based TVs.

err, I didn't say Plasma was crap, just that I wouldn't buy one.

You know, as a scientist, you really ought to know better than to
    extrapolate from a single datum.

He wouldn't see it, it is only shown on the pit lane, he could of
marshalled til he was blue in the face but unless he was a pitlane
marshal, he would not see one.

That was his point I think. The counter point was that if something was so
important to need a bike off the track immediately then all the marshalls
    should have recourse to it.

Still didn't need to hear it said repeatedly for 5 minutes.

Making a huge vacuum envelope is damned difficult and expensive.

    And ver, ver, heavy.

No, just yanked on the free end of the electric flex like I usually do.

And oranges are vastly overrated as phones, I always end up with a pip
    in my ear.

  17. I'd argue the toss about the language, but I'd then turn into
the gestalt entity known as PorlDes. So I won't.
    I do. I very rarely do science whilst posting to ukrm;
    this is entertainment.

Should be a 'theatre mode (ATI) or 'Full Screen Video (NVidia)' in the
drivers that sends the video overlay out to the SVIDEO/Composite port
in a fullscreened mode... I've got it here. When there's no video
overlay, the TV displays a 720x576 section of the main display which
scrolls to follow the mouse pointer, when I punch up a video it goes
fullscreen, regardless of what I do with the overlay window.

As you said it's a Geforce 4 check for 'Full Screen Video' in the
    drivers.

Yeah, it does get a bit boring when someone thinks they are right but
noones listening so they repeat it. If someone is needed of the track
immediately it is usually because the marshals have seen something
amiss with their bike often a loose fairing.
Believe it or not, one of the meetings (Derby phoenix I think)someone
went for 2 laps with their back brake hanging off, before actually
seeing the black flag with their No on.
