Apart from meeting the lovely but bizarre Bob McKintyre (see other thread)
I sat through a fairly dull, for-insurance-purposes chat with about 18
others, followed by a mutiple choice so easy that only Des could complicate
    it.

We got to the flags bit, where they talk about what the flags are for and
get to a flag I haven't seen before: A black flag with red solid circle
apparently meaning "Get off the track RIGHT NOW". Unfortunately in the class
is an experienced marshall applying for his race license and his mate who
get stuck into a perpetuating circle of incredulity almost related to the
"Who's on first" sketch. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Mr Marshall
said the phrase "It's not been held at a marshall station in my 25 years of
marshalling" 7 or 8 times, interlaced with his pal saying "It's not in the
handbook, it should really be in the handbook" 7 or 8 times and the lecturer
saying "Yes, we will definitely check it out" 7 or 8 times. With some of us
creasing us with laughter through boredom Mr Marshall says, " If I could go
back to the flag, I just want to say I haven't seen it at my station in 25
years". It was like being in a Twilight Zone sketch but without being able
    to switch the tv off.

I got fucking soaked but it's done now. Now to choose a club and I can get
    my license.

Only and the special colourblindness test I had to go through? "What
colour's this flag? And this? Nice one, that'll do."

    almost kinda totally finished.

Well, the PVR bit works totally, with nice overlayed OSD menus etc.
Only thing left is to work out how to sensibly play DVDs from the same
    box.

"word on the street" (forums) is that it's impossible to get DVD's
playing through the Hauppauge's TV out. Well, impossible without
firing up Borland Turbo C and writing my own combined video
    drivers/DVD-decryption plug-ins.

The **** of it all is that, although I'd be prepared to run DVD out of
a seperate S-video out on the motherboard, and route that in through
the telly's 2nd SCART port, the set-up for the GeForce 4 onboard video
will *not* let me designate the tv-out as the primary display, and so
video overlay gets blanked through that output.

Of course, the proper solution would be to buy a 60" wide-screen TFT
    display...

"If you experience mechanical failure during a race or practise you should

[a] Tour back to the pits
Try and repair it on the track
[3] Pull off the circuit at once."

"If you crash during a race or practice under what circumstances should you
    remount and continue

[a] If the marshall says it's ok
    Your engine is still running
    [3] Under no circumstances"

....bear in mind that the answers are all given in the initial briefing.

Well, at Pembrey you'd better get the fucker back to pits, regardless.

    See above answer.

When racing, under no circumstances crash or abandon your bike where
it will obstruct the team leaving the track as soon as possible. Tch.
    It's fundamental!
