    Yes, it was me.

Cheers for that - I think I'll give 'em a go.

Well, I'm just about to wander out into the garage to properly fit
them, but the first trial fit suggests it's a five minute job and they
    do make a difference.

It was a five minute job, the rest of the time was spent sorting out
the lhs switch block that was doing a pretty good impression of the
London Eye whenever I stabbed the horn button in a manner suitable for
    UKRM.

Of course if the previous owner had fitted the handlebar grip such that
the hole for the switch block's locating pin hadn't been covered up,
this wouldn't have been happening in the first place, plus the switch
block would've actually fitted properly. Oh well, another five minutes
of swearing and prodding things and that's sorted out as well.

Impressions of the risers are pretty good so far although the alloy
appears to be a tad on the soft side as the simple act of putting the
bars back on produced slight marks on them.

Last job is to find out if the front disks are indeed warped or if it's
something else producing the chattering from the front wheel under hard
braking. Once that's all sorted I guess I can re-insure it and tax it...

Could be front tyre wear, the Falco was terrible for that.

That's a thought although the front tyre was fairly new. But then again
the guy's been riding around on extremely low tyres pressures; god
knows what that's done to the tyres.

  11. SteveH formulated on Saturday :
I fitted some on my my VFR last year. They make a big difference to
comfort, but leave you slightly more exposed to the wind. As someone
else suggested, the metal is quite soft, unprotected and if exposed to
    much weather will oxidise.

They can take a bit longer than five minutes to fit, I found one of the
cables just a tad short to install without additional work - but once
on the cable lengths were fine.
