Six-inch nails, mate. Cheap, flexible in design, unbreakable. In
conjunction with some free coathangers, almost infinitely adjustable
and expandable. Can be wall, floor, door or ceiling-mounted.

    YKIMS.

Also come in handy for nailing unfunny annoying cunts' heads to coffee
    tables on demand.

    Carolyn Preston says...
Second hand wardrobe, 10 quid. I've got all my bike gear in one, and
there's a handy cupboard above for helmets and other little bits of kit
like your leather cleaner and helmet care products. Has the added
advantage of not looking out of place in any house either.

anyone else watch "Waking the Dead" last night? Blokes getting
nine-inch nails through the head - big old square-section things.

What are such nails actually legitimately used for - anyone know?

They looked like oversized floorboard nails, so that's probably what
they're for. Normally they'd only be about four inches, but I guess if
    you've got very thick floorboards...

    Marvellous, that'll do nicly. Cheers.

I did chuckle at the description:

    children and grown-ups."

Have you seen the Hardie Secure Ground Anchor
that they are selling. They show a picture of it bolted
to block paving. Good enterprising young thief could walk
up to secured bike and use the chain to pull the block from
the ground and Whoops another bike gone. Claim to have a
gold status rating. Some good that is if you don't fix it correctly.
