    Surely this is a troll.

Haven't noticed a divide myself but I've got on average about 6000
unread messages at a time and sometimes I mark them all read and may
    have missed something.

Anyway, that description could apply to anyone on here.

I rate both you and Bear as "small dots on the horizon".

Possibly I could work out which of you was the quicker, but only at the risk
of ending up having a sky-gazing session in the arms of a prickly bush.

While I appreciate that the group "riders who are faster than me" is far
from a select one you are both firmly members of it.

I'd like to learn what the little pedal by my right foot does.

I never, ever use the back brake - I don't drag it on slow corners, I don't
use it in the wet, I don't use it when I'm trying to stop quickly and I
don't use it on the track.

If it wasn't for holding the bike stationary on hills I could do away with
the thing all together, but stuff that I've read leads me to believe that it
    might actually have a function.

I know that Des couldn't live without his back brake, but it must have its
    plus side as well.

heh, what a funny little man you are.
Aye, we all do it - even the ones who are too insecure with their own
    sexuality to admit it.

I wouldn't waste too much time worrying about the back brake - it gives so
little braking effect compared to the front anyway.
I think the finesse required to use it effectively at higher speeds is
rarely found outside the racing circle, plod & ex-plod.
For us mere mortals, the attention-span would be better spent on other
aspects of our riding - i.e. better use of gears, better anticipation of the
need to reduce speed, better lines & road positioning etc.
For me it's an aid to slow-speed stability and manouvering.
Oh, and for doing gigantic noisy skids when coming to a halt.
    LOL

Comfort braking. I know I'm doing it, & I know I'm not using it to
reduce speed - it just feel so /comfortable/.

Someone's never ridden a Wing. Biggest caliper, acting on the biggest
disc, is at the back. If you want to stop, boot it.

I use it a lot on the Tiger as it really makes a difference, especially
for squatting the back down to reduce fork dive. However I never use it
on the MV, & even rode around without it for 7 months[1] while waiting
for a new rear master cylinder to come through.
