Actually at that sort of money I'd go for it, so we just need someone
to subscribe & then mail it out again to a group.

    Prices are a bit silly.

£10 for a trail month, when the papers would only cost £6.40 and £100
ex Vat for a year when the papers would only cost £83.60.

You're missing the point somewhat I think.

Yes it costs more. However if one person were to pay that, and then share it
with 500 other people (which you can't easily do with the paper version) the
economics suddenly become a bit different.

Oh no, I realise that. I was just musing about the cost in general.
Half the point of distributing something like that electronically is
that it cuts the costs, not increases them.

Since when did cutting costs mean a lower price for the consumer?

That depends how busy the chippy is on Thursday.

But the format of the medium will result in a loss of direct advertising
and the possibility of account-sharing could result in circulation figures
being lower than they currently are.

Distribution and printing is only going to be a part of it.

I was assuming they'd still carry the same ads. I get Computer Weekly
as a pdf[1] and that still has all the ads that the normal print on
does. It's simply the paper as pdf, probably exactly what they send
    to the printers.

[1] Some free sub I got last year.
