We had a right good time on Skye. At the Slig Gig II
    http://www.skyemcc.co.uk/

Thursday we tootled off to just south of Glasgow to stop at a place called
Douglas where met Mike and Moria. On the way one of Jean's rear footrests
fell off an hit me ..

    Weather was bright shiny stuff.

Had a few beers in a local that would have been better used as a bonfire.

Friday was still bright and shiny, missed Glasgow turnoff 'cos was
laughing at being told "to fasten seat belt" (on a bike !).
I love these signs, allways a laugh a minute.

Anyway, over Erskine and off up A82, Glen Coe etc and then down to
Mallaig. Got to Skye and sunbathed at Armadale for a bit, then tonked down
to Sligathan.... I'd forgotten how good that road was.

Set up tents and marvelled at views etc. Pitched tent next to BMW and
after pleasanties where froms etc swore at him 'cos his 738 miles
meant our 416 would not get us "furthest travelled" :=).

Around now took piss aboput weather from down south.

    Hit beer.
Hit Whiskey (Bar had over 60 Whiskeys, and a menu to select from)
    http://www.sligachan.co.uk/
After booze and band sat outside tent as 1st drops of light rain
    arrived at 02:00.

Woke up to roaring noise. Shiny weather had gone to be replaced by
    60Mph winds and rain.

Mike and Moiras tent looked battered, so shored up and had breakfast.

Went to Talisker distillery :) Jean by now a convert.

Rode around island (in rain) and had fish and chips in Portree.

At this point Jeans N/S bar end weight fell off ! This missed me :)

Got back to Slig and Mike and Moira's tent looked a bit flat, along with
    many others on site.

Baled out, shored up , strapped to motortbike.
    Had beer
    Had Whiskey
    Slept ... sort of :)

Got up , binned Mike and Moira's tent, our chairs and other knackered items.

This is a top rally, top site, top bar, top people and top roads to/from
    and around.

Mike had to go to work so loaded up his bike with loads of our gear,
and swap it for Moria.... seemed a fair swap to me.

We were off to Falkirk as we were about to do California to New York on
    Monday.

Off over Kyle and round the long way, still raining.
Got to Falkirk around 17:30 and grabbed a room at the Formula1 ...
bargain. £21.95 for a room that fits 3 and £2.50 for breakfast.

Got up, a bit of sun, packed, rain started again.
    Found California, rain stopped.
Shot round Edinburgh, hit Coldstream and then Holy Island. Then down the
coast to Seahouses ( I just loved that place), a quick dive on the A1
and off again to the coastal route. all this time the Sun was a bright shiny thing.

Found New York ... what a a pit. Rain hit as soon as photos taken.... rain hit hard !

Rained until Scotch corner, then bright shiny stuff started again.

Came over A59 to drop Moira off in Rossendale, had kebab supper and headed home.

    960 miles... not a bad weekend :)

I think you have just insulted the place that rate so highly -
    mortally.
The best distillery tour I ever went round, that one. Cetainly the
most generous and the generator of the worst whisky hangover I've ever
    had.
    Bet you didn't.
Sounds top, mate. It *always* pisses down on Skye, though.

    bugger !
    Ped :)
Ahh, but it is the way it suckers you in with some good weather, and then
    dumps on you.

Sounds fun. But you sunbathed? In Scotland? Now I know you're fibbing.

Meanwhile, I went for a ride to the beach and took some pictures of
moist groynes playing in the surf [1].

    That's little deep.

I'm not really sure. Choose from the following multiple choice answers.

    a) Something to do.

    b) So that I can apply lots of pixeldust (as they are far from perfect),
    mount, frame, bang on wall.

    c) Wandering around a beach *looking* is quite an absorbing activity.

    d) None of the above.

Nice photos. Of course, I was hoping they might be moist groins, but
    never mind :)

I maight give that a go. The horizons are a little wonky on some
(caused by using a cheap old digital camera which can be a sod to use in
bright light). It's easily fixable though.

Bad form etc. But by way of exlanation, Mrs. Prawn is a Photoshop
Goddess, so I leave all the details to her.

Well, I suppose, yes. I'm a little sensitive today, as I realised
earlier, that I mis-apostrofied when sober. The trouble is that I'm not
sober now and it all getting a little wierd.
