You're 'lucky' in that you're pretty much average height and average
    build.

Which just goes to show how many short-arses there are.

Anyway, it may be average, but it doesn't make it normal.

There's an advantage, longer bones break easier

That's just what short-arses would like you to think.

You think so? In practise mal-nourished short-arses are much less
likely to have strong bones than healthy, normal sized people.
What, to think that in some way you're 'above average'? Don't fool
yourself, you're still a short fat git.

good examples - the R30 was fine for up to about an hour's riding, and
    then fairly painful after that.

The 'blade is fine for pretty much indefinite use.

Except that you'd die of boredom on a blade.

  12. I remember the fuel-injected Guzzi Cali as being excruciating on the bum
    after an hour or so.

And the old 916/748 was designed around a crippled mong.

  14. I *do* have 3 older brothers y'know[1]. And a childhood without a TV that
was spent running amok on pushbikes.

And a misspent yoof on motorbikes - with a sufficiency of crashes to my
credit. I'm just lucky I guess - or have naturally good reflexes.

Actually - I did break a bone once - in my hand. From punching a door.
It's a short and tedious story that I won't bore anyone with unless
    plied with sufficient alcohol.

    Phil.

[1] And thus spent a good part of my early childhood learning how to
    avoid being beaten up.

Do you have any experience of the ST4S and any awareness of the
reliability stats for them? they seem to depreciate nicely in the 24
month span and if the 996 engine hasn't been "retuned" might be worth a
    test ride.

Not for you, shorty. Lozzo's not any sort of giant, either.

Not a bad choice for what he wants to do, otherwise.

is it really taller than an R1150GS or a CCM R30 (both of which I
    found no problem to ride)?

    Lessee:

    R1150GS 840 / 860mm
    R30 865mm
    V-Strom 1000[1] GT 840mm

So, I don't think I'd have any problems. Don't think I'll be buying
    one, mind.

[1] the 650s are for chicks.
