Expandable memory to allow total European coverage?

Apart from c) [1] the Garmin 2610 is the daddy. Note, *not* the 2620,
*not* the 2720 but the 2610. Add a 2GB CF card (cheap as chips at the
    moment).

[1] The 2610 has a mains power lead and a PC data cable to let you do
your trip planning from the comfort of your 21" screen, full-sized
    keyboard PC.

At 655 USFD it better be. Christ, that's just too much money to spend on
that stuff. That's fuel and maps for a few years.

JHC. Another one that can't read.
Let me help YOU out. IF you read the link it tells you it's a link to a site
about PDA cases. If you, like dwb, are too dim to click on it...
FYI it would be bad form to to give a Snipurl or similar shortened url
without explanation of where the link leads. Mine does not fall into that
    category.

  6. gomez formulated the question :
    He did not specify that!

Enough memory to include the entire UK, plus enough spare to include
part of France. Other than that you can pick the particualar areas you
are interested in and upload them before you go.

I am pretty sure the Otterbox is not guaranteed to be shit-proof,

True. But its the kind of feature that a neophyte can miss out on
which later turns out to be important to them.
All of it? A post-retirement, pre-death, Grand Tour is on my list of
things to do ... including the seedier parts of Marseilles :)

Thats why I used my long-service award from my (now ex) employers to
treat myself, It was either that, an antique barometer or some (more)
shares in said company :) Cash was not an option.

That's okay if someone else paid for it then.

    Travel Day
    1 - Camberley - Dover - Speedferries - Boulogne- Gace
2 - Gace - Central / East France to Millau (and over the viaduct) !
3 - Millau - motorways south past Perpignan, Barcelona, Valencia ,
    Benidorm, Alicante, Torrevieja
to my mate's house.... (about 650 miles that day and averaged 74
    mph)
Worst day - Spanish drivers are crap / dangerous - stayed there a
    couple of days
4 - Torrevieja - approx North to North-East across Spain to near
    Pamplona
( this was easily the best day for riding - roads / lack of traffic
    / scenery - fantastic)
5 - Near Pamplona - North near San Sebastian, west end of Pyrenees,
    Bayonne, Mont du Marsin, Condom
( to get a photo for my son !) Agen, Villeneuve-sur-Lot,
    Montflanquin, to friends house
6 - A tour around the Dordogne inc. Rocamadour - Souillac - Sarlat - Beynac
    and along the Dordogne river,
back to friends house for second night
7 - Off up north via Bergerac, Verteillac, Angouleme, Poitiers, Tours, Le
    Mans, Alencon to near Gace
8 - Gace - Lisieux - Honfleur (for a cuppa and more pics) - Pont de
    Normandie- Le Havre- Abbeville,
Boulogne - Speedferries - Dover and back to near Camberley

and the CG 125 has never run better, even though it was near the red line
    most of the time....

We thoroughly liked crossing Spain and hated their motorways/drivers - roads
quite good though - French drivers were OK and their roads great. French
Motorway tolls cheap / free for bikes, but Spanish tolls same as for cars,
and expensive - French petrol about 92p to 99p a litre - Spanish petrol
about 75p litre everywhere. Overall trip mpg was approx 47.5mpg, average
speeds around mid 60's most of the time, cruising speed was generally about
(true GPS - mid 80s) travel time was between 6 and 10 hours each day, 22
litre tank range was about 230 to 250 miles, but we chose to stop at approx
200 in case... no numb bums / no bike problems at all / other problems -
total trip mileage was about 3200 miles - a really great time !

Doing it again ? You bet ! - next time though will be looking at 350 mile
days, with longer stops at mid-morning, lunchtime and mid-afternoon, aiming
to end the day at around 16-00 hours to get more eating and some drinking
in. Also plan in fewer motorway miles in France (except maybe to cover
distance quickly) main roads are fine - No motorways in Spain ( just not
necessary) travel lighter - more miles in Spain if poss. We were time
constricted this time and wanted to experience a busy week just for the
experience and to calibrate ourselves and the bikes as to what was
comfortable for a day's riding, for next time, which we did.

Hope that helps.... What are you planning ?

What is there to plan? Just get on bike and go.

FWIW, having already done it on 4 wheels, my recommendation would be to get
    the ferry to Spain.
