I often count down the gears despite having a digital indicator,
however neither helped when I tried to pull away from a roundabout in 4th

Must be an age thing.

 

More or less the same for me. I know, for example 90mph in top = 7,000
rpm, or 30mph = 4,000 rpm in third and other obvious markers.

What does cathc me out sometimes is changing down when I don't realise
I'm in second and sneck it into neutral by mistake :-(
