The thing is, Nev, I think most of the other readers understood what I
    wrote.

What I feared...analysis paralysis :) Geez what are you lot like
when it comes to ordering off the pub menu? No wait...that's right...
still deciding on which pub and which backroad to get to it.

Having spent a (pleasant enough, if somewhat lacking in
challenge) ..spent a day towing a frickin' trailer, spruiking some
real estate advertising, all the way out to Penrith and back...on the
back of a 150cc scooter...I can provide firsthand insight that SBS is
still very much applicable to that contraption.

Best of luck for whatever course you do. Will endeavour to attend the
next pub lunch chin-wag to be debriefed on the outcome.

Nothing has changed since the charger and/or GV650 purchase.
I think he/we will gain most if Gerry/..... did a short course at the
    school of hard knocks.

    And I think you're a f*cking Neanderthal who hasn't evolved beyond the
idea that differences are best settled by a bit of biffo.

F*ck right off, Peter, I'm not in the mood for your control-freak
insanity today. Go biff your shrink.

    :)

    On that topic:
    http://www.ted.com/talks/barry_schwartz_on_the_paradox_of_choice.html
Thanks alx. In the end it was silly factors and idiotic prejudice
    which swayed me, eg:

[1] SU is Australian owned and operated.
[2] I am in revolt against the Yanks till they SERIOUSLY revise their
attitude towards the rest of the world, especially their mass
    murderous foreign policy.
[3] Even though they seem to cater to lesser mortals like Cruiser
riders, they seem to be geared towards the hoon end of the spectum and
    I HATE HOONS.
[4] Even the name Superbike School puts me off severely.
[5] I refuse to even entertain the idea of leaning the cruiser (which
has heaps of ground clearance) to the point where things scrape. I am
an Old Fart, a Coward, and Pansy. I AM NOT A HOON!!! :)

I'm sure it is a great school. On the scale of things it might even
be the better school but I doubt that he difference will be sigificant
in my case, and given the above STUPID REASONS, I feel better doing it
with SU. Maybe in the future I will find reasons bigger than my
    prejudices.

Anyway, should I get killed because of what I didn't learn by not
attending SBS, as a wannabe buddhist I can always address these issues
    in my next lifetime. :)

Again, thanks again to you and and everyone else for all the very good
comments and advice. It did help me finally get to a point of
    decision.

I've decided to do the SU Advanced 1.

I am booking in today after I read their fine print.

If you know anyone in HART's marketing departement, tell them to sack
the people responsible for their pathetic website.

It totally failed to iginite my enthusiams even though I suspect their
course is excellent. In this day and age such a dysfunctional
corportate communication effort should not be tolerated.

For a suitably exorbitant fee, I am willing to show them the way.

Of course, as is frequently pointed out to me, I could be wrong. ;-)

Mate, buddy, cobber, pal, if I took a little bit too long in making up
my mind, it might also have had something to do with the lack of
unambiguous, emphatic, well-argued and convincing advice being
    offered.

Seemed everyone was so shit scared of the rest of the group jumping on
them for being "wrong in the internet" *** that they all had
    "diplomacy paralysis"

er... Gerry... I think you'll find that the rest of the world uses the
expression "school of hard knocks" as a metaphor for "experience" and
"reality". I'm not sure what Peter was on about, but you are probably
the only person here who read into it a reference to fisticuffs.

    Settle Petal.

er... Moike... I think you'll find (if the disingenuous prick ever
actually fesses up) that he was having little play on words there and
was using the words "hard knocks" to imply "biffo".

I say that because the prick has issued veiled threats towards me
before, over in the other newsgroup where he likes snuggling up to The
    Patriots.

He's a sad prick whose camouflage is "I'm a lovely, reasonable bloke".
I can pick the type a mile off. I must be psychic. If I ever
discover that I've been wrong I'll buy him free beers for an entire
evening, but I think my money is pretty safe.

I think when we find out who the real Peter is, we'll find out that he
has a history of threatening to deck people he has "issues" with.

I could be wrong... but I'm reasonably confident that I'm not.

    Thanks for your input. :)

Gerry - you're procrastinating. Stop trying to analyze this to the nth
    degree and just DO ONE!

Pick the one where you don't have to modify your bike, where you don't
have to go out on a limb and buy or hire special protective clothing,
    and JUST DO IT!

If you were doing what I think you were doing, you suck.

There's an industry I'd like to see die (along with the rest of
    advertising and marketing).

Before too many of you he-men start to man up, I need to explain the
way in which I used the word "pansy" here.

I used it in the sense of "a brain not hijacked by an overabundance of
testosterone." I did NOT mean to imply that I fancied men.

So stop emailing me your salacious proposals.
