    Hi guys,

Have seen two bike pics that Dale has here
    http://www.geocities.com/daleandrewporter/
and want to know which model I should buy.
I'm only 5ft 7" and weigh 12 stone. Have had
L O T S of bikes over the years, but probably
not as powerful as those two.
I'm fort ifty something and not so fit as a few
years ago, but can start slowly. Will ride up
the drive a few times first like Dale does. grinnn...

    So waddayareckon.

Peter Stevens in Melbourne are selling the VTR's new for about $12-13k + orc at the moment. Was very
    tempting. :)

Jeanette rides the Blade regularly and she's only 5'2" when on tiptoes. ;-)

She hasn't ridden the Storm yet, but we think it's about the same reach to the ground for her as the
Blade is. At your height you shouldn't have a problem with either bike.

    Thanks Dale,
I might have to go for a test ride tomorrow on both.
I like the Storm ... hope the dealer here has them in stock.

Why would you be choosing between a blade and a storm?

    Dunno, that's why I'm asking.
    Similar bikes aren't they?

Very different beasts. Ride each one and you'll understand. :)

similar in that they both have 2 wheels i guess

ones at 954cc in line four with efi, the other a 996cc twin with carbs

hmmmm i think thats says alot, how about getting down and having a look at
some bike shops and sitting on a few bikes and seeing what suits yu, rather
than looking at some pretty pic's on the net

    Hey Corks,
That's exactly what I'm going on about. The only modern bike I've had
recently was the Suzuki GS500 which I sold a couple of weeks ago. That was
under powered but comfortable to ride. My dear one (wife) wants to
ride pillion with me on short trips. She wants me to buy a comfortable BMW
    but
I have a secret yearning for a Honda. I like four cylinder fuel injected,
but my mates reckon there's nothing like a vee twin (even with carbs.)
I certainly will have to check out the real thing, not just pics.
    Thanks for your help.

Thanks Paul, I thought I might be too short or lightweight
for a more powerful bike. I'm going to ride a few tomorrow.

Make sure you write a ride report here on the different bikes you testride. I'm sure there are
people here that would be interested to hear your impressions and thoughts. Always good to have
varying points of view and thoughts.

By the way Dale, what format should mt test reports take?

    Like: VTR 1000 Bloody fast.
CBR 1000 Bloody expensive AND bloody fast...

Or is there a certain form you Aussie guys have for road testing.
    *smile*
