Dover seems to have missed the rain. It's nice & sunny so sunblock may
    be more use than waterproofs.

We need it here too; apart from 10 points from the storm last Sunday
we haven't had anything since 05/04.

Nice hailstorm an hour ago. Didn't last long but it will help. The lovely
yellow peony tree didn't like it though. Pretty lawn now, covered in yellow
    petals.

It flipping hammered down about 90 minutes after departing Calais,
thunder, lightening & hailstones the size of small eggs, viability
almost zero. A bimble around today has been mostly dry but it did
start raring for a bit this afternoon.

From www.blitzortung.org it looks like there's a lot of it about now,
inching over the channel towards Brighton. Devon has a heavy-rain alert, too.
