Well, I don't make it!
I only know of the stuff used in isotope containers, not the ordnance
stuff. I have been informed that this DU does not significantly add to the
background radiation (where, I don't know...).

DU *is* an alpha emitter and this could also be what is causing the
problems. Alpha radiation being quite harmless when it's outside the body,
can do 20 times as much damage to tissues inside.

I suspect you'd be much safer with tap water ;-)

p.s. 39.3 MBq/kg isn't that much. 1 curie is 37 GBq. I regularly use
isotopes of 50 ci, sometimes more (Ir192).
