Clue: For NCD & Insurance Loading purposes it's better not to be to
    blame for crashes. HTH.

Once again, it is the fucktard with the made-up, non-existent email
address that has you pointing the finger. You really ought to look
    for these signs, you know.

Yeah most of the locals here think that about bikers every summer when
they manage to bring the local main routes to a standstill on a weekly
    basis...

Learning about it is one thing. GEtting them to take account of it is
    another.

You seem to have mistaken this for uk.rec.sheds or you wouldn't be
    listing types of shed here.

Anyone who thinks it's bikers who clog up summer roads has no idea at all what
    the truth is.

Ray has been posting to uk.rec.driving for quite sometime as Mr Bitsy. Not
sure what brought on the change of posting name

So how come most mornings I switch on my radio, and there's a report
of an overturned lorry somewhere in the country causing traffic chaos?
It's rare to hear of a motorbike accident doing similarly.

  12. I am more interested in the safety of the situation. Wouldn't you hate to
floating up, looking down but being pleased you weren't to blame?

  16. Raymond Keattch explained :
The bikes headlight was lit and difficult to miss even if you don't
look in the mirror - so I would half suspect it was a deliberate act by
    the car driver.
In mitigation for the car driver, the first few frames show the bike
closing with the car, then braking - so perhaps the bike had not been
    there for too long?
Perhaps, or perhaps he had decided he would beat the bike to the
overtake at all costs. It happens to me all to frequently, despite my
having perhaps three times the acceleration of most cars.
I very much agree and the riders reactions were very slow - no apparent
attempt to brake at all, no sign of the horn being sounded, just the
movement further out to avoid the car. His brakes ought to have been
covered and the horn. He had plenty of time to respond, but didn't
perhaps due to the distraction behind him.
The rider didn't delay long enough, nor was he in the correct gear and
when he did go he was not really accelerating very quickly, nor did it
have his attention. He even seemed to change up a notch as the car
pulled out into his path, despite his being at the lower to mid rev
range and in the worst possible place to choose to change up.
His dangers were in front of him - the possibility of the red car
attempting to pull out, oncoming vehicles etc. - yet he allowed himself
to dwell on his mirror and what was happening behind him? I wonder if
there might have been another rider behind him, his mate?

A quick final glance should have covered it on the lead up to pulling
out, then his full attention diverted to the road ahead and the
    overtake.
    Agreed.

  19. Poor swerve. The point, as you well know, is to show to us that all your
ROSPA, IAM, whatever time has not been wasted, and that you do indeed
know enough about bikes and cars to instruct us.

    And you don't.

    You lose.

  20. No, you aren't. You're more interested in lecturing others about it,
    despite your own poor record.
