  5. I think you will find I failed the first attempt - I believe the pass rate
for the first attempt is around 10%.

Your other comment is bollocks of course - the only reason I went to RoSPA
was to continue the learning process and to continue to improve. Why would
anyone do that if they thought they new best? RoSPA require regular
retests - why go through that if one thinks they know it all?

  6. He's a long way back from one car in front, but you get a brief
glimpse of a closer one when the red car moves out then back, about a
couple of seconds before the bike moves out.

Raymond Keattch secured a place in history by writing:
In order to maintain your own confidence in handing out patronising road
    tips in motorcycle newsgroups?

You've turned up here waving yer film about and conjecturing 'it takes to
Tango' without apparently recognising that most here broadly agree with you
and, if anything, think the biker was at least an 8/10 on the two-wheeled
twat scale. This is because most of the regulars who post in this group
are long-experienced motorcyclists and, I suspect, are far better riders of
motorcycles than the drivers of cages who inhabit the cage bits of usenet
are drivers of cages, testosterone being far more in evidence over there.
There are many here who are capable of riding very fast on a track. There
are many more who have done some level of advanced road training. In
short, short-shrift is what you're likely to get with road-safety tips in
UKRM. I'm quite disappointed at the restraint that's been shown TBH, it's
all got far too civil in here.

    Very much so.

I'll give you a bell tomorrow.

Leave the rohypnol at home this time, though. I've felt dirty ever since
    the last meeting...

  10. I note you show no interest in the video or how the accident may have been
avoided. It would have been nice to get your views, but it appear your
    here to share them.

Not only that, but if he'd have hung back then got a good run up, he
could have flown past the car at a pace before it ever had time to pull
    out.

  12. I find it rather disapointing the motorcycle group seem so hostile towards
car drivers. As you say, many of you have taken some level of advanced
training, yet most of the replies here have had nothing to do with the
video showing both a car driver and rider making complete tits of
    themselves.

I show motorbikes absolute courtesy on the road and have no axe to grind.
From a road safety point of view, I found the video to be useful to both
groups in highlighting the importance of forward observation and
    anticipation.

I saw that video yesterday in another place. My comments there were that
it was a 50-50 accident for a number of reasons.

You've completely misunderstood the riders motives.
The rider was obviously in complete control of the whole situation.

He needed a new bike (note lack of acceleration, shagged engine). He had
    no money.
He therefore carefully selected the right type of muppet cage/driver
combination, and set them up for an insurance claim.
He probably leapt into the bushes to the left, and threw the bike at the
car. He was certainly up and running as the bike came to a standstill,
all ready to harass the poor confused driver into admitting liability.
Of course the 'laying in the road motionless' option wasn't viable, due
to the risk of oncoming traffic.
The driver was putty in his hands and inevitably to blame.
Honestly, how so many people mis-interpret these videos is beyond me.

On a serious note, riders learn very quickly that the vast majority of
cagers haven't the slightest concept of maintaining all round vision,
and seldom use their mirrors. The rider in your video was obviously a
twat, as was the cager, but stating the bleeding obvious in either of
these groups tells me that your a sanctimonious twat. What on earth do
you think is the point of posting?
If you want to save riders, target the brain dead cagers, statistically,
you've got a much wider audience, but I doubt they read either of these
    groups.
