And can someone tell me where the #1 cylinder is located; #2, #3, and
#4 as you are facing the front of the bike?

    hi butch....

inline 4 cylinders, like a 750, usually has the number one cylinder on
the far right if you are facing the bike from the front... if you are
sitting on the bike, the number one cylinder would be on the far left.
Another way to check would be to look at your coils.... not sure if the
gl1100 has dual coils, but if you can follow the firing order from the
coils,(as on a 750), then that would help to confirm which cylinder is
    which....

    Good Luck..

See.... I didn't think I they were the same, as i am not familiar with a
wing set up.... I should just stick to my expertise....and when i find out
what that is, I will let everyone know... hehehe...
