Where is a source of older Honda parts?

Discussion in 'Motorbike Technical Discussion' started by Masospaghetti, Jun 15, 2005.

  1. I'm having a tough time finding websites that sell Honda parts for older
bikes (like, mid-70's up) other than a local dealer$hip that charges way
too much. Do you guys know of any?

    Thanks!

  2. There is a huge aftermarket mail order industry out there than can help
you out. The $tealer$hip$ only want to work on newwer bikes, and sell
new bikes to new customers. If you're like me and keep a motorbike for
10 years or like to buy and fix old bikes, you need to look through
motorcycle salvage yards for some engine parts like cylinders and heads
and cases and covers and frames and forks...

But you need to shop online for smaller replacement parts...

Check www.oldbikebarn.com for tune up parts and carb kits...

Brakes and clutches and cables and levers and turn signals and lenses,
and batteries and light bulbs and seat covers and stuff that generally
wears out in normal use or gets broken in minor accidents can be found
at www.denniskirk.com or the Chaparral Motorsports website...

Check the www.mawonline.com site for links to all the aftermarket
manufacturers. I don't necessarily recommend *buying* anything from
MAW, they are just a bullpen with a bunch of computers, they shop other
warehouses for merchandise at the cheapest price and ship it to you
    from the other company's warehouse...

But the links to all the manufacturers are on the MAW website, so
that's quicker than googling for each one...

David Silver Spares is about one of the best.
CRC2 is also quite good for a lot of parts.
    Ebay is ok
Some of the Honda forums are the place to look.
(Hell I've got at least 20 bookmarks on the home computer just for SOHC4
    stuff.)
