Bought a new throttle cable for my GT250L, and looked at the routing of the
old one which looks wrong. Haynes manual is useless as no diag of cable
    runs.

So could anyone help by describing or better still send a pic of where the
    cable is supposed to run?

I've sorta routed it and connected it up (after making a new cable barrel
for the oil pump linkage as Last Owner had lost it and done a (nother)
bodge) and the good news is it was almost on two cyls when I fired it up!!

I've had a quick look at my GT250B, I assume they are fairly similar but
don't know for sure, so don't take this as gospel!

Sitting on the bike the cable adjuster at the twistgrip is at roughly 45
    degrees to the handlebars.

The cable forms a smooth arc out and back coming back on the right of the
bike, under the clocks but above the headlamp bracket, in front of the brake
hose but behind the rev counter cable.

From there it goes straight back under the tank, high up on the right hand
side of the frame's top spine. I haven't got the time to take the tank off
at present, but it looks like the separate cables to the carb's and oil pump
come down from under the tank roughly level with the fuel tap.

Hope that helps, but if you're still stuck you can e-mail me direct and I
might be able to get a photo and/or the tank off at the weekend.

    Regards
    Ross

Many thanks Ross thats a great help, I'll let you know if I need any more
    info.

Of course I'm assuming that the other cables are in the right place too!!
