Does that mean if they do two 1000km days, they get two?

    Would explain a lot....

  3. I've done a thousand kms on a 250 in a day (and 1500 on a bigger bike) but I
tried it one time on an RGV250 and after 780kms I just couldn't go any
further... when I got off I couldn't even stand up straight (seriously... I
used to think people were joking about that :) [1]

    [1] not all 250's I'd suggest *grin*

Hmm, my EL250 wasn't much better than that, comin back from p.i. i was hard pressed to get
90km/h out of her on some of those hills.

    Serious question
How does the new steed go in comparison to the el?
can it go the highway speeds easy enough?
You haven't really told us how it goes.
I've always wondered what the performance of sub 600cc bikes would be like.

    Yes :)

Difference? hmm, how can i compare it?

ok, try this. Driving a mid 80's Daihatsu Charade along a freeway, it gets bustled pretty easily by the wind,
chokes on headwind and you gotta rev the shit outta it to get anywhere. But its small, can be thrown about
in all kindsa ways, and is a good a-b device and sometimes is enjoyable to use.

You then trade it in and go buy yourself a Nissan Bluebird, sure it's about the same age, but its smoother,
handles better, but you can feel the extra 300-400 kilo's in weight in the steering. But that's made up for
by it being sturdier, less windbuffet prone (heck i even can cope reasonably well riding in the buffet zone
of trucks, esp compared to the EL), and it has a nice clip to its acceleration. There's no question about it
having problems in doing any speed limit comfortably, it'll happily do it.

Of course there's the falcodores and hsv's and all your inbred/racebred vehicles like the MR2 that can carry
more/get your license suspended faster. But it does what it does very capably. And a nice "nifty" factor is
the belt drive smoothens the ride out one HELL of a lot.

Now if i was considering a trip backto P.I, i'd not even hessitate in saying this bike would do it happily, or
that id have a remote problem with doing the trip on it. Also at W.O.T acceleration in low gears this thing
scares me a bit, and i've had a bit of time to get used to it. :).

Hey Michael, I think it's time we organised a polo shirt and cap run.

I sold over 120 T shirts and windcheaters last 2 times.

What is the chance of a long sleeve rugby top. Some of us live in the antarctic.
