    I always bid 1-5p up on the pound, for just that reason.

    It's interesting to see what others are bidding on, e.g.

    Many people don't realise that this information is so available.

    Either copy URL and overtype the userid reference or "Advanced Search",
    "Items by Bidder", enter userid, select options and hit Searcg button.
