When baiting the police .....

Just listened to a short pursuit of a 'solo' near my place.

The offender was apparently travelling westbound, the police eastbound,
when the offender did a U-Turn, and blasted past the police at high
speed. A short pursuit followed, which was quickly called off when the
offender ran a red light.

The offender lost it about 1km further on. The police were following slowly
(in case he did another U-Turn) and saw the bike down. They jumped out,
and found the rider a short distance away. (complaining of sore head and
shoulder)

If your going to bait the police, at least make sure you know the escape
route well enough that you are not going to drop it on the first bend after
you get away! (it was literally the first corner of note.)

Last time I was with someone who did a u-turn and a runner rather than stop
for the police he did the opposite... made it ok round the first corner and
then ran a red light and bounced off two cars.
