Probably a ginge but this was in the Torygraph today:

    Biker's wheelie at 112mph
    By David Sapsted
    (Filed: 15/01/2005)

A motorcyclist who was spotted doing a "wheelie" at 112mph during a
police chase escaped a jail sentence yesterday. Safety campaigners and
the AA expressed concern over the apparent leniency of the sentence
imposed on Steven Dixon, 31, who was followed by police at speeds up to
127mph while testing a "superbike" on the A11 near Norwich in June. He
finally stopped after the unmarked car put on its siren.

Dixon, a haulage company owner from Tharston, Norfolk, was sentenced to
100 hours community service and banned from driving for 18 months at
Norwich Crown Court after admitting dangerous driving.

    The above is from:
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/01/15/nbike15.xml

The paper version says it was a ZX10.

  2. Why do they admit to DD?
Plead not guilty and make the buggers prove it was dangerous.
I doubt he'd have come off any worse than an 18 month ban if found
    guilty.

  3. I think that might of been the bloke who was out testing it the day before I
bought mine. I remember it caused much mirth at the dealers, until they
realised they'd just bombed out on a sale.

Well I know that JP has also suggested that they (at least, the
Aylesbury ones often referred to) should not, but it's worth bearing
in mind that to 'prove' dangerous driving, the magistrate (or jury, if
it goes to Crown Court) only has to be convinced it was dangerous, and
that it would be seen as such by any normal cometent driver.

In other words, they don't have to prove it was dangerous at all, it's
down to the defence to prove that it wasn't.
