is that why full fairing bike riders are more happy - glad wrap?

Its the wannabe naked bike look.... cheaper too

I think I'll have to report myself to them, bad things seem to happen
to motors whenever I take the top off them...

  4. It's a 1990 ZX10, they didn't actually make then in '87. (You're thinking of
the GPZ1000RX, of which I also have one.)

But seriously, I know it can be done, 'cause I've flipped the GPX250 before
(hence one of the reasons I have so much trouble getting it up these days -
    I'm scared!!!)

I find just wrapping the throttle around to 'flat-out' and leaving it there
in 1st, 2nd, 3rd will result in the front wheel heading skyward around the
7500-8000RPM mark. Then once it's up, just back off a little and it'll
accelerate like a bullet with the front wheel about 2 feet off the
    ground :) Feels great!

For bonus points you can haul the front wheel up by dipping the clutch at
about 3-4000RPM in anything under 4th gear, and it's gonna come up a
little. More throttle needed to keep it there - be careful with this, as
the revs build, so does the power - leave it open too far for too long, and
you'll be sliding down the road on your arse with your pride-n-joy racing
off ahead of you.....also on it's arse.

    Have fun :)

    James - Serious Question.

Is the ZX10 in pristine condition? Like pretty good condition for a photo
    shoot?

I'd be interested to hear from any other VTR250 riders who have tried
to get the front wheel up. Ive found no chance with the throttle only
option, to get any height out it I have to about 10k on the revs and
drop the clutch in no 1. Any less than 10k doesnt work too well, looks
like you shouldnt be doing wheelies at all if you only get it just off
the ground. Also not much scope for throttle control on the 250.
Anyway still practising. Anbody done any serious damage to clutches on
the vtr250. It cant be too kind on them.

    Cheers

  11. Ha ha ha.

I had to replace (actually had it replaced for me) as the clutch basket
springs lost their ability to do their job.

If you cant wheelie the VTR you aint trying hard enough, or perhaps, too
    hard.

If you cant wheelie a bike you're a fag. Simple as that.

  13. Unfortunately, no. The 1000RX is, as is the Z1R, (and even the GPX on one
    side only).

    The ZX10 looks pretty shithouse.

Why for a photo shoot? I might be able to find you one.

  15. I had my ZX10 parked against the new ZX10R at Parra Kwaka the other day. The
new one is TINY next to it. About a foot shorter in height, about 2 feet
shorter in length, and about 6 inches narrower.

  16. A Couple of extra tips to make things easier.

    1. Lower preload all the way on the rear and raise the preload on the front
    as much as possible.

    2. Lower the rear tyre pressure to 15 psi. This make the tyre less round
and the bike more stable left to right.

    3. Up the rebound on the rear and lower the rebound on the front.

    4. Sit back on the seat.

That's easy. Bodies sometimes eventually heal. Bikes don't.

I'm not one for playing the odds myself.
