Wheelies are fun

    Hmmm, Husaberg.

I wasn't laughing when I heard the service (read oil & filter change)
intervals for a race prepped one. No way would I want to own one even
though the go I had was immense fun.

It wasn't my fault that a 10 mile blat with a few wheelies thrown in
ended up with said Husaberg being trailered home for a bit of tlc.

Honda really missed out with that slogan - they should have had "No Cunts".

The place I bought it from said their branch close by had "a thing to
remap it" but they didn't have it there. I don't know if they'll have
the gubbins for the way mine's set up but you never know. Stranger
    things have happened.
A bit of both really, I'm just loathed to spend 250 quid on something I
could possibly get done for free at a next service or for the price of a
    dyno run.
Why would a dealer adjust the CO if it's running right?

I better make sure I see what it's adjusted to befrore I take it in for
any work then 'cos it'll be nigh on impossible to put back to where it
was without knowing the number. It's (IIRC) supposed to be somewhere
    round +2.

It is and apparently yes, they do.

A Powercommander fixes it, allegedly which is why I want a main dealer
to remap rather than spend money on a Power Commander.

However, if in the future I sell the bike or just swap pipes or whatever
the fuelling'll be up the shit when I take it off.

Nothing's ever fucking easy, is it?

You could be in luck then - fingers crossed.
You'd probably need the PC setup on a dyno anyway, so budget nearer
400+ if you go that route.
Whoever maps the PC will most likely set it to run lean at low RPM,
getting richer as it goes up through the range. If a dealer checks the
idle CO at a service, sees it's lean & decides to 'fix' it, that will
have a knock-on effect, making it too rich at higher RPMs. Or it might
not, depending on how the FI works on your particular bike.

Oh jebus. It was bad enough seeing the girls at EoSM having sampled
the vibratory nature of Sweller's Guzzi - what the hell would a
    Panther do to them?

    DR says...
Tori didn't want to get off the Guzzi after her pillion ride[1], she was
    giggling for ages afterwards.

I think a trip to an Ann Summers shop is on the cards, it'll be cheaper
than buying her a Guzzi of her own.

[1] Thanks Sweller, but she enjoyed that a little too much.

It would appear not. Despite having something to map and remap
I was going to ask about this. Why would I need a PC set up on a dyno if
the PC has specific maps for a certain setup?
Ah, I see. Well, it a case of "don't touch the CO" then, innit :)

Would you trust the map to be spot on? You use the dyno run to tell
you what's going on and the PC to tweak it to where you (and the
    tuner) want it.

You might not - it depends on the bike. If they do a map for your
combination of pipes & filter, give it a go & see what it's like. If
you don't have any flat-spots, it'll probably be good enough for your
    purposes, although not perfect.

The thing is engines vary, as does the environment & fuel. If the map
you download was setup on a bike with a tight engine using low-octane
yank fuel at 5k feet above sea level in 35 degree ambient temperature &
95% humidity, it's not going to be perfect for your bike in London.

It's just down to how perfect you want it, & a custom map is the only
way to get it spot on. If you do decide to dyno it, I'd suggest waiting
til you've got a couple of k miles on it first, & ideally do the valve
clearances & clean the air filter beforehand.

I see. Well, I bought one and a DNA filter from Demon Tweeks yesterday
and the card arrived this morning.

I will fit it tomorrow and see how I get on.

IFAICR, Banjax in East London have a dyno, or at least they did and I
can't think of anyone that's nearer.

    That makes sense.
There's nearly 2k on it now and as I said up there ^^^ a bit, I'm
awaiting a high-flow filter which I will be collecting tomorrow.

I'll give it another week or two or even leave it until the next
service/when the standard filter gets shitty - Which won't be long in
    Londinium.

They did when I got the CBX MOT'd in July.

They were keen to get the CBX up on it, but I wasn't.

I don't think I'd be keen to see it on a dyno if it was my bike. The
idea of someone revving the tits off of a bike like that then suddenly
realising it doesn't actually have a rev limiter has very little
    appeal.
